Underneath the tangle of Norfolk pines watching the world wake to peach glazed skies. A moment of solitude and quiet blessings that makes waking up for the sunrise always worth it, when the day is the most peaceful and hopeful and the chatter of birds is the main company.

What started out as a spark of inspiration in October ended up being an 8-month languid exploration of finding my groove back to painting after wrestling with a creative block most of 2025. It was a piece that I toiled over and relished in its little nooks and crannies that surprised me like the red glowing trees that were highlighted by the waking sun or the ripples in the water as they reflected even telegraph poles you couldn't see at first glance. 

I didn't expect this piece to carry so much for me or others but I can feel its now a token of a quiet joy yet a somber moodiness that I've enjoyed experimenting with in this collection.
